As students read the story they will be asked to do a quick summary of each chapter. In order to do this they will come up with one sentence that describes what happened in the chapter. This is done using, "Someone, Wanted, But, So" Each student is provided a 18x6 piece of construction paper that they will fold into four(4) equal sections.
As we read each chapter I will provide the sentence they were given in class on this page. Each page will be due the following day during class. The students will be given plenty of time to complete the page in class but should someone need extra time they can finish it at home.

This is done using, "Someone, Wanted, But, So" Each student is provided a 18x6 piece of construction paper that they will fold into four(4) equal sections.
- In the first section they will identify the "Someone" of the chapter. This could be the character or character's most talked about in the chapter.
- In the second section they will write the "Wanted" part of the sentence. In other words what did the someone want?
- In the third(3) section they will identify the "But" part of the sentence. What was keeping the someone from getting what they wanted.
- Finally in the forth(4) section the will identify the "So" part of the sentence. Here they will tell what happened to the someone during the chapter.
